Austin FC Rolls Out Armadillo Kit for 2024/2025 – CAPITAL CITY SOCCER

Austin FC revealed the new 2024/2025 away jersey to a packed house of Oak Collective members at the iconic ACL Live music venue—home of Austin City Limits—in downtown Austin.

Dubbed “The ‘Dillo Lives”, the kit launch concert and party paid homage to the Armadillo World Headquarters—the concert hall that thrust the city’s music scene into the national spotlight in the 1970s. Invited Verde fans wearing collectible ‘Dillo Lives badges were ushered through the doors of the resurrected Armadillo World Headquarters Concert Hall and Beer Garden if only for one night, to celebrate music and soccer.

Local musical artists Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel (an act that played at the OG Armadillo), Gary P. Nunn, William Beckman, Blackchyl, Kidd Jones, King Louie, and Orya entertained fans until it was time for the official kit reveal. Then to cheers from the Verde faithful, Latin Grammy nominee Gina Chavez walked on stage sporting “The Armadillo Kit”, unveiling Austin FC’s new secondary jersey to the world for the first time.

The cream and verde road kit represents “The Live Music Capital of the World”, bringing back Austin’s ‘Dillo—a prominent icon in the music posters and mythos of the legendary Armadillo World Headquarters. Besides AWHQ’s renowned address boldly printed in green on the back collar, the front of Austin FC’s newest secondary uniform features the eternal Austin armadillo imprinted on the jock tag, along with a sewn-on ATXFC crest on the chest.

Details matter on the 2024/2025 Austin FC secondary shirt. The away uni includes an embroidered intertwining oaks crest on the left chest, the address of the famed Armadillo World Headquarters stitched on the back neckline, and the nine-banded Armadillo jock tag on the left hip.

Fans should be excited that Adidas released two different pairs of matching shorts for the Armadillo Kit. The green shorts took center stage when the kit was first ever worn on the pitch in a preseason friendly against NYCFC on Feb. 17. But the cream shorts paired with the cream top looks too clean to pass up.
