Player contracts are written agreements between professional soccer players and their clubs. A contract outlines the terms and conditions of a player’s employment, including the salary, bonuses, and other compensation a player will receive for playing with the club.
The length of a soccer player’s contract can vary but at Austin, the number of guaranteed years in a player’s contract generally falls in the 1- to 3-year range.

Note: Austin FC has one- to two-year club options for most players that can extend the contract end date.
If not indicated in the table, the player’s contract expiration date was not disclosed at the time of the announcement. We can assume Rodney Redes—the club’s first signing—has an indefinite contract (just kidding).
Currently, Leo Väisänen (newly signed in 2023) and Jon Gallagher (contract extension in late 2022) have the longest contract lengths—December 2026.

Seven Austin FC players are eligible for free agency according to MLSPA ahead of the 2024 season. Except for Ethan Finlay, who’s out of contract, the players listed below could have their contract option exercised by the club to remain in Austin for another year.
