Emiliano Rigoni gets first minutes in Verde – CAPITAL CITY SOCCER
Thirty-three days after Austin FC signed Argentine winger Emiliano Rigoni, he finally got his first minutes in a match for Austin FC. In the 63rd minute against Portland, Rigoni subbed in for Ethan Finlay.
As far as his performance, he lacked the match sharpness required to make a huge difference (which is to be expected considering he has only been in Austin for ten days). However, his potential in this side could be huge. Finlay is making Josh Wolff’s job difficult with another solid performance, but we cannot complain with having options in the attack.
Coach Josh Wolff had this to say after the game about Rigoni’s first time in Verde.
“It’s going to take a little time to get him fully up to speed. You can quickly see he wants to go at guys. He’s got good service with both feet.”
