History
Dedicated to the Youth Development in the OKC Area
The Capital City Soccer Club is comprised of two soccer clubs from the Oklahoma City Area, the OKC Magpies and Capital City Titans. This is our inaugural year for the two clubs to be together but each club has a history that stems back over the past 16 years. The club is divided into two distinct parts the underage program, Capital City Magpies, and the competitive classic teams, Capital City SC. Below is the history of each of the clubs that came together this year.
OKC Magpies Capital City Titans
The Magpies Soccer Club which was originally formed in 1994 by Richard Hudson to complete a void in the soccer community in Oklahoma City. The Magpies were established to be a complete soccer club with teams starting at the under 6 age bracket and continuing on through the under 19 age bracket. Because of the rules governing soccer in the Oklahoma City area teams associated with the Magpie Soccer Club in the under 6 to under 10 age brackets are strictly indoor teams made up of a collection of recreational outdoor players who have a desire to get additional training in a competitive environment. Once teams have reached the under 11 age bracket they are then eligible to play indoor and outdoor with the Magpies. Except for a three year hiatus, the Magpies have run soccer programs throughout all age divisions 12 months out of the year. Our club in 1994 sponsored 13 teams ranging from the Magpie 88 in the under 7 age division to the Magpie 78 in the under 17 age division. In our second year we sponsored 21 teams in boys and girls and had at least one team in every age in the boy’s bracket, many with two. In 1999 the Magpie Soccer Club merged into the Royals Soccer Club to form a super club in the Oklahoma City Area. The combined clubs at great success in league and tournament play. In 2001 the Royals Soccer Club moved their home fields to Edmond again creating a void in the soccer community of Oklahoma City. In February of 2003 the Magpies Resurrected their club with 2 girls and two boys teams in the indoor program. In July of 2003 the Magpies have merged with the Capital City Titans to form a club that will cover all of the boy’s age brackets for the fall 2003 season.
